We are a diverse, ever-expanding group of community members, artists, educators, development specialists and community organizers who believe that our development system and its dominant discourse need transformation. All our organizational members are asked to serve an active role in the fulfillment of our mission. At this time we divide members into three categories, which are detailed here with their respective expected contributions:
Academic/Professional Members: Offer educational services. Contribution is measured by hours contributed to projects.
Community-Based Members: Assist with community-based project creation, administration and evaluation. Contribution is measured by hours contributed to projects
International Members and Honorary Members: Assist with donations (monetary and in-kind), grant-writing, offering educational services, providing contacts for donations and educational programming. Contribution is measured by amount of funds/contacts procured or hours contributed
We are a decentralized, low overhead organization. We have limited full-time personnel, working extensively with our regularly contracted education facilitators. This streamlining of human resources helps us funnel the vast majority of our resources directly into the communities with whom we work. If you are interested in becoming a member, please contact us.
