Rehearsing Change for Teachers

We are extremely happy to annouce our formal plans for the first annual Encuentro de Educadores, in which Spanish-speaking educators from Ecuador and abroad will come together for a 4-day dialogue to explore the relationship between "how we do education" and "how we live in community."  We will work to devise an over-arching educational philosophy and new methodologies with the goal of bridging the divide between our educational institutions and the communities where they carry out their practice. The first Encuentro is tentatively planned for early August, 2017.

Rehearsing Change for Teachers also operates short-term, customized programs that bring together teachers from abroad and the Ecuadorian Amazon for professional development and curriculum design.  Spending time at both the Tiputini Biodiversity Station and local communities, the teachers learn about the Amazon’s rich biodiversity, its ecological challenges, cultural diversity and most importantly, about each other.

If you are interested in participating in the Encuentro or organizing a summer program, please contact us.
