Universidad San Francisco de Quito
The Universidad San Francisco de Quito is not just a school of record for our program; rather, they are our academic partner. First and foremost, USFQ provides the official transcripts for students who participate in the program. Our courses are registered USFQ classes; our professors are USFQ faculty. What’s more, USFQ students can also participate in our program, meaning the Pachaysana/USFQ relationship is completely unique, as we strive to create diverse cohorts with international students, USFQ students and local counterparts.
Founded in 1988, USFQ is commonly considered the most distinguished university in Ecuador, as well as being recognized as one of the top universities in Latin America. It has the largest international exchange program in the region, with more than 100 agreements with universities throughout the world, making it relatively easy to arrange for credit transfer. USFQ is based on a liberal arts college model and employs many of the Ecuador’s most renowned scholars and educators. USFQ’s international programs include short term, semester and year-long programs at their main campus in Quito, at their Galapagos campus (GAIAS), and at their Tiputini Bio-Divesity Station for research and environmental education in the Amazon
